Koh Chang Bailan Beach Resort

Nice beach, evening low tides. The staff were very kind and helpful. Everything was very clean. The breakfasts were delicious and varied, served as a buffet. I left my phone behind when checking out, and they delivered it to the port free of charge before the ferry departed. The distance wasn’t far, but it was the kindness and selfless effort that really mattered.

Room was very satisfactory to the price. The environment was very peaceful and clean providing great relaxation and comfort. Breakfast was ok, but not awesome in contrast the pool. was great! The staff were kind and polite and did a good job being helpful.

I didn't like that I would submit an order for coffee and then would come back 10min later and ask again what I wanted. This happened on a couple of occasions, even my wife didn't understand. I didnt like waiting for 45min to get a ride to the pier only to get a driver that was reckless; speeding and driving dangerously such that he even hit a cargo cart at a hotel and launched it onto the sidewalk endangering guests at this hotel as well as those on the road. IT WAS INSANE and SCARY! (photo of songthaew & driver attached)

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Always ready to help. The breakfast was plentiful and had great options and variations each day. The grounds were beautiful and the room was nice. We had a great time and the room was a great value.

The beds were very firm - too firm for our tastes. One pane of the bathroom window that was frosted glass had been replaced with clear glass so someone in the upper building could see in. The patio door did not stay closed unless it was locked. One in our party had a dinner selection from the restaurant that did not sit well.

I liked that it was waterfront and had a pool.

The beach area is small and rocky.

The gardens and wildlife to be seen here is amazing. You can watch the sunset from your cabin. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I rented a bike from them and unfortunately dropped it because of heavy rain on a hill and they had me pay a more than fair price instead of trying to rip me off. Daily cleaning of your cabin.

Cabins are bit dated and could do with refurb. Bed was a little too firm for my liking

Everything was great, staff very friendly, good breakfast, nice bungalow. Bathroom would need a little renovation, but it remains clean.

Nice place right on the shore, friendly staff and a variety of huts available. Nice swimingpool!

The wifi in some huts didn’t work, only if you had one close to the reception. Also the tv’s are ready for replacements.

This hotel is perfectly positioned, with beautiful views of the sea. The surrounding gardens are well maintained. The pool is a welcome if you do not like sea swimming. The breakfast is top class, with eggs made to order, a wide selection of fresh fruit and juices, and different tastes of Thailand everyday. Sam, the owner, is always on hand to welcome, advise and make sure your stay is comfortable.

I think the room let this hotel down (slightly) though it didn't spoil our overall stay. They are old, and the air-conditioning is not really fit for purpose. It is noisy and definitely needs a re-gas! Maybe they will see to this very soon.

Very nice and pieceful, the food was stunning and the personal so friendly and happy. My luggage got lost on the island by a mistake and they went beyond to help me find it <3 so greateful!

Amazing friendly resort, clean bungalows, great staff. Beware rocky seabed but sea is stunning, restaurant great value and there's even a mini shop. Our stay included buffet breakfast, which was excellent, and there’s a range of local restaurantsalo.g the road, 5-minute walk, inc vegetarian options. Kettle and fridge in room, bring tea if you're a tea-drinker! Comfy bed, not rock-hard like most in Thailand.

The only negative was the rocky shore and sea bed, not just pebbles but a few jagged rocks, so you have to be wary how you get in and out of the sea, and can catch yourself at low tide.
